IKEA Canada is committed to an inclusive and accepting environment for all customers and co-workers. It’s a reminder that progress still needs to be made so that all people within the 2SLGBTQ+ community are treated equally and fairly.

To us, flying the Pride Progress Flag is more than symbolic. The flag includes black and brown stripes to represent 2SLGBTQ+ communities of colour, as well as pink, light blue and white to represent the transgender community. In an effort to be more inclusive of all 2SLGBTQ+ people, within and outside IKEA, we are adopting the Pride Progress Flag. To mark this year’s International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia on the 17th of May and Pride celebrations throughout the summer months, we want to acknowledge the progress that’s been made on 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion and talk about the steps we all can take to push progress further. We want people of all sexual orientations and gender identities to feel at home, not just at IKEA, but everywhere. At IKEA, we have always stood for ‘the many people’, an idea that does not discriminate. Let’s build a world where everyone can feel at homeĢSLGBTQ+ inclusion is a topic very close to our hearts.
